The Settlement

Labaton Sucharow announces yet another record breaking settlement in In re St. Paul Travelers Securities Litigation, 04-CV-3801 (JRT/FLN)

The Settlement, which was preliminarily approved by Judge John Tunheim on November 25, 2005, will result in an all cash settlement fund of $67.5 million — the second largest settlement in the Eighth Circuit, and one of the top 100 securities class action settlements of all time. The action arose when the St. Paul Travelers Companies, Inc. announced that it would be taking an approximately $1.6 billion purchase accounting adjustment, several months after St. Paul and Travelers merged in April 2004, contravening earlier statements.
